Job Title: Learning Resources Assistant
Learning Resources Centre Assistant (Part-Time) Isleworth, West London A college in Hounslow is seeking a friendly and proactive Learning Resources Centre (LRC) Assistant to support students and staff in a busy, customer-focused learning environment. Hours: 18 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time only) Working Pattern: • Mon – 09:00–13:00 • Tues – 15:00–17:00 • Wed – 09:00–12:00 & 13:00–14:00 • Thurs – 10:00–12:00, 13:00–14:00 & 17:00–19:00 • Fri – 09:00–12:00 & 13:00–14:00 (Includes at least one late evening) About the Role You’ll play a key front-line role in the LRC, helping students access learning resources and IT facilities while maintaining a welcoming and productive study environment. Key Responsibilities • Staff the LRC desk: issue, return and renew resources using the library system • Support students with finding materials and using IT (MS Office, Teams, online databases) • Assist with printing, scanning and copying services • Handle general enquiries and provide excellent customer service • Help maintain a tidy, safe and focused learning space • Support shelving, stock maintenance, and basic repairs of materials • Assist with student inductions and promote use of digital resources • Provide occasional support for independent learning sessions (I-Learn) • Carry out general admin and support college events when required About You • Experience working in a library or learning resource environment • Good standard of education, including Level 2 English and Maths • Confident using IT systems (Word, Excel, internet tools) • Strong organisational and communication skills • A team player with a flexible, proactive approach • Able to work occasional early mornings or evenings • Understanding of equality, data protection, and health & safety Why Apply?
