Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Graduate Teaching Assistants to work within welcoming primary schools in the Patchway area, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering future careers in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, counselling or social care.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping children access learning, build confidence and develop positive relationships within the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support for primary-aged pupils with SEMH and SEND needs.
Building positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
Supporting pupils to regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies.
Working alongside class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored interventions.
Encouraging social, emotional and academic development through engaging learning activities.
Promoting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child can succeed.
We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in any subject.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy and resilience.
A proactive and positive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
Experience working with children or young people (through volunteering, coaching, mentoring, childcare or similar) is desirable but not essential.
