Are you a passionate Functional Skills Teacher looking for a part-time role where you can make a genuine impact?
We are working with a small, specialist day school in Swanley that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for young people aged 8–16 years. With just 6 pupils on roll, this setting offers a highly personalised approach to education, allowing you to truly see the difference you make.
The Role
Part-time – 2.5 days per week
Delivering Functional Skills Maths and English tailored to individual needs
Planning and adapting lessons in line with EHCP targets
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Creating an engaging, structured, and supportive learning environment
Working closely with a small, dedicated staff team
The Pupils
All students have EHCPs and present with:
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
Trauma and attachment needs (primary focus)
Mild ASD
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) or experienced Functional Skills Tutor
Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English
Strong understanding of SEMH and trauma-informed approaches
Confident differentiating for pupils with EHCPs
Patient, adaptable, and relationship-driven
