Job Title: Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Wandsworth, London Job Type: Full-Time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Salary: £90 - £95 per day Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a supportive and inclusive school located in the heart of Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing tailored support to children with diverse educational needs, helping to create an environment where every student can thrive and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with the SEND Coordinator to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and support plans for students with various learning difficulties or disabilities. • Assist SEND students in understanding and engaging with the curriculum, using specialized techniques to promote effective learning. • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessments and reports. • Foster a caring and safe learning environment, sensitive to the needs of each student. • Support with the management of student behavior to ensure a constructive classroom atmosphere. • Engage with students both one-on-one and in small groups, encouraging independence and social integration. • Liaise with parents, guardians, and other professionals to ensure consistency in the student's learning and development. • Participate in ongoing professional development related to SEND practices and policies. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role. • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEND students and the strategies required for their support. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children. • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent is highly desirable.
