We are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing primary school in Smethwick on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting children within the Early Years setting who have additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping young learners develop key social, emotional, and communication skills during these crucial early stages of education.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with special educational needs in Early Years
• Support the development of speech, language, and communication skills
• Encourage positive interactions, play-based learning, and social development
• Assist with implementing EHCPs and personalised support plans
• Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
• Support children with routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
We Are Looking For:
• Experience working within an Early Years or Nursery setting
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
• A warm, patient, and nurturing approach
• An understanding of the EYFS framework
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
