Job Title: Cover supervisor
Position: Cover Supervisor – Primary School
Location: Rochdale, OL12
Type: Day-to-Day Cover, Short-Term, Long-Term
Pay: £120+ per day (subject to experience and qualifications)
Axcis Education is expanding its dedicated and confident pool of candidates to provide high-quality cover support within primary schools in Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience and further their career in education.
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable cover supervisor who understands the primary school environment and curriculum. You will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-planned lessons, leading interventions, and ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
This role would suit candidates with:
• A degree in a relevant subject area, or
• Proven experience working within a primary school setting
A strong understanding of primary curriculum expectations and school policies is essential.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
• Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
• Leading or supporting small group interventions in core subjects (English and Maths)
• Providing 1:1 support where required
• Ensuring a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment
• Removing barriers to learning for all pupils
• Applying reasonable adjustments to support SEND learners
• Using de-escalation strategies and consistently applying the school’s behaviour and reward policies
• Encouraging positive peer interactions and promoting social communication skills
• Supporting emotional regulation and resilience through structured routines and consistency
