About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, reliable Classroom Assistant to join our vibrant learning environment in Richmond. Working closely with teachers, you will help create a supportive, organised, and inclusive classroom that enables every student to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the teacher in delivering daily lessons, preparing resources and setting up equipment.
- Supervise and engage students during class activities, group work, and transitions.
- Monitor student behaviour, reinforcing school policies and fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Provide one-to-one assistance to pupils who require additional support, including those with special educational needs.
- Assist with marking, recording attendance, and maintaining accurate pupil data.
- Contribute to the upkeep of a clean, safe, and well-ordered classroom environment.
Essential Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; further qualifications are desirable.
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Excellent organisational abilities and a calm, patient demeanour.
- Commitment to safeguarding and a clear DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
