About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team in N10. This full-time role will focus on supporting pupils in Year 4, with a particular emphasis on English and Maths. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help pupils achieve their full potential, providing targeted support to individuals and small groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and making a meaningful difference in children's learning and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide focused support in English and Maths to Year 4 pupils, including small group interventions and 1:1 support
Assist the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering engaging learning activities
Support pupils with varying abilities, including those who may need additional help to access the curriculum
Help to monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
Assist with classroom organisation, resources, and displays
Support pupils during lessons, break times, and other school activities as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 2
Strong skills in English and Maths (GCSE grade C/4 or above in both, minimum requirement)
Confidence supporting pupils with literacy and numeracy development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, positive, and proactive approach
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable but not essential:
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3)
Experience delivering interventions in English and Maths
Experience supporting pupils with SEND
