Job Title: Children Support Worker Location: Frome, Somerset Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time Pay: £90 per day PAYE About Our School: Axcis Education are seeking Support Workers who are interested in working with young people within a SEND school in Frome, Somerset, committed to fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment. The successful Support Worker will be responsible for enhancing the academic, social and behavioural development of children with complex and multiple learning disabilities, as well as special educational needs and disabilities. The SEND school promotes providing individualised support so each child can reach their fullest potential. Part-time and full-time roles available. Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Children Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with other professionals within the school to deliver high-quality support tailored to the needs of children with a diverse range of challenges. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with various learning disabilities and SEND to help meet their educational targets. - Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists to implement individualized education and behaviour plans. - Facilitate social skills development through planned activities and play, supporting children in forming positive interactions and friendships. - Monitor and track the children’s progress, adapting approaches as necessary, and provide regular feedback to relevant parties. - Assisting with the development and maintenance of an inclusive classroom environment. - Help to promote independence, self-confidence, and resilience in students. - Attend meetings and training as required to continuously develop professional knowledge and skills. - Actively contribute to maintaining a safe and secure educational setting for all pupils, adhering to safeguarding policies. Qualifications and Skills: - Experience working with children with complex and multiple learning disabilities and SEND is essential. - A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or a related field is preferred. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging situations. - The ability to work effectively as part of a team and under own initiative. - Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to the welfare of children.
