Job Title: BSL / Coda Teaching Assistant
BSL / CODA Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Harrow (Immediate Start) NW9
Axcis Education are excited to be recruiting for a passionate and skilled Teaching Assistant with BSL Level 2 or above – or a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) with fluent signing ability – to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Harrow.
This is a full-time position, starting immediately, and interviews are being arranged without delay.
About the Role
Location: Harrow
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:20am – 3:45pm
Start Date: ASAP
Your time will be split between two key areas:
Morning support: Working across the SEN department, helping pupils with a range of additional needs such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia.
Afternoon focus: Offering 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil within the school’s hearing impairment unit. This child has both a hearing impairment and neurodiversity, so your BSL expertise will play a crucial role in their learning journey.
We’re looking for someone who:
Holds BSL Level 2 or higher or is a CODA with strong signing ability
Can confidently use BSL in a classroom setting
Brings experience (or a genuine passion) for supporting children with SEND
Is patient, adaptable, and dedicated to inclusive education
Why apply?
This is a brilliant opportunity to use your signing skills to make a meaningful difference – supporting not only a child who relies on BSL, but also pupils across the wider school community. You’ll be joining a nurturing team in a school that truly values inclusivity and diversity.
If you’re enthusiastic, skilled in BSL, and ready to start straight away, we’d love to hear from you.
Send your CV today – this school is eager to appoint quickly.
