Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant Location: Wandsworth, London Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm Salary: Paid to scale Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will provide essential support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities: • Assist in the delivery of personalized education plans for students with ASD. • Support pupils in developing their communication, social, and life skills. • Employ a range of strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement. • Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one support to enhance learning outcomes. • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to monitor and report on students' progress. • Adapt resources to meet the individual needs of pupils. • Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment for all students. • Participate in professional development opportunities related to ASD support. Requirements: • Experience working with children, particularly those with ASD. • A compassionate approach and a strong commitment to inclusive education. • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related field, is desirable.
