Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in London, providing essential support to students with autism spectrum disorder. The successful candidate will work closely with our teachers and SENCO to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for students with behavioural difficulties and additional needs.
Responsibilities
• Implement tailored educational plans to support individual learning styles.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviours and provide emotional support to pupils.
• Develop and enhance students’ communication skills, specifically in speaking and listening.
• Foster social skills and encourage positive interactions among students.
• Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure consistency in the application of behavioural strategies.
• Monitor and record student progress, adapting approaches to meet their evolving needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements
• Experience working with children with ASD and behavioural difficulties.
• Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and a patient, understanding approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the broader school community.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
