Job Title: Trauma Learning Coach
Axcis Education are working with a secondary school in Torbay who require a Trauma Learning Coach to support children with complex trauma and who can at times, present challenging behaviour. The position is available for part-time or full-time candidates (Monday to Friday) and working hours are 8.30-3.30. The pay rate for this position is between £80 and £95 a day, depending on whether you have previous experience working with children in a mainstream or SEND school. The school are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria to become a successful Trauma Learning Coach: • Resilient, trustworthy and is approachable. • A strong work-ethic and attitude to supporting others. • Has a positive attitude towards helping others. • Is driven and motivated to be the very best version of themselves. The children engage in a bespoke, creative curriculum, which is stimulating and engaging, and is good preparation for life skills required for future employment. Negative behaviour patterns are tackled head on, with a bespoke behaviour policy implemented to promote small step changes in a positive direction. The school have invested in heavily in state-of-the-art provision to support pupils when they become dysregulated and or require thinking space to regulate their emotions. As a Trauma Learning Coach, your role will be based around supporting the children on a day to day basis, helping the children to access their learning and provision. You will form excellent relationships with pupils and coach the children how to help regulate their feelings and emotions.
