Location: Wigan, UK Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting students with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD for a long-term placement with the potential for permanent employment. This role will be based in Wigan, UK, within a dynamic educational environment that values inclusivity and support for all learners. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD within the classroom setting. • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational activities to meet the diverse needs of students. • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected. • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to develop individualised learning plans and support strategies. • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders as required. Requirements: • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role within an educational setting. • Sound knowledge and understanding of SEMH, ASD, and ADHD, with proven ability to implement appropriate support strategies. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. • Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging behaviours and situations. • Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with SEND would be advantageous.
