Job Title: Youth Workers - TA Role
North Somerset
Axcis are currently recruiting youth workers for teaching assistant roles in and around North Somerset and the surrounding areas. We particularly want to talk to people who are unfazed by challenging behaviour, who are resilient and can remain calm under pressure. Those trained in Team Teach or MAPA will be at an advantage although this is not essential. If you are interested in transitioning to teaching assistant work, we work with a number of pupil referral units in the North Somerset area who are looking for people experienced in challenging behaviour and emotional behavioural disorders. If you're looking to make a positive change in the world then this is your chance. A lot of these children have had difficult home lives and have been let down many times. You must have a calm nature, be unfazed by challenging behaviour and have the ability to de-escalate situations - these children need a positive role model and the right candidate will be resilient, empathetic and understanding. If you make a positive impression at this referral unit a lot of our ad-hoc work turns into long term positions. You will need to be able to use public transport or have your own vehicle to get to the different schools around Noth Somerset. If you're looking for a supply agency that offers work in special schools and/or alternative provisions then Axcis is the recruitment agency for you. We can offer you a great daily rate and incentives like our monthly SEND giveaway prize, a refer a friend option that pays our £50 for referring a teaching assistant to us and £100 for teacher, as well as the opportunity to be nominated for (and possibly win) our sought-after Candidate of the Term award. We consider ourselves to be the ethical agency and work closely with the national autistic society (NAS) and the national association of special educational needs (nasen) we have helped to fund numerous training and support initiatives which have helped to spread awareness and good practice.

This is a temporary position.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

As such, you will be required to provide an up to date CRB/DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines (for details please see our website).

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.

You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
