Location:Exeter Start Date: September 2026 Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only Pay: £94 - £96 per day Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Exeter is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with additional needs within a nurturing environment, while also promoting inclusion and access to learning across the wider school community. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SEND professionals and pastoral staff to provide tailored support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and socially. The Role: • Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within the school's classes • Delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning activities • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and independence • Supporting pupils' communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SEND professionals and families • Being a general TA moving around different classes and being adaptable • Encouraging pupils to participate fully in school life and achieve their individual goals The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school or SEND setting • A calm, patient and resilient approach • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs • A genuine passion for inclusion and helping children achieve their full potential • Experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs is desirable but not essential What the School Offers: • A supportive and experienced leadership team • High-quality training and professional development opportunities • A collaborative, welcoming and inclusive staff team • Enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on children's educational journeys This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, support workers, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals looking to further develop their SEND experience within a supportive mainstream primary school.
