SEMH Teaching Assistant – September Start
Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Hillingdon this September.

This is an excellent opportunity to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students with SEMH needs within a mainstream secondary setting.
Help pupils access learning through positive behaviour support and structured interventions.
Build positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and engagement.
Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the wider SEND team to ensure students receive the support they need.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support for students across KS3 and KS4 with SEMH needs.
Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using effective behaviour management strategies.
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Encourage positive engagement and participation in lessons.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
Has previous experience supporting students with SEMH within a mainstream secondary school.
Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills.
Is patient, resilient, and proactive.
Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Is available to work full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm).
