The school is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to start immediately on a day-to-day basis as a trial period, with the opportunity to secure a long-term role from September and potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. About the Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with Autism and complex needs, in line with their EHCPs Support tailored learning interventions alongside the class teacher and wider SEN team Use alternative communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, or similar approaches to promote engagement and understanding Deliver personal care respectfully and professionally where required Support pupils' social, emotional, communication, and life skills development Contribute positively to the wider classroom environment and pupil progress The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience supporting children with Autism and/or complex SEN Be confident using alternative communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or similar Be comfortable providing personal care when required Work effectively as part of a supportive team with strong communication skills Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) Why Join This School?
