The school has a strong community feel and a well-established SEND provision, with a proactive SENCO and experienced support staff who work closely together to ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality support. About the Role You will be supporting pupils across the primary phase, both within the classroom and through targeted 1:1 or small-group support. The role will involve helping children access learning, develop communication skills, regulate emotions and build independence throughout the school day. You will: • Support pupils with autism, speech and language needs and communication difficulties • Use visual supports, structured routines and calm communication strategies • Assist with differentiated classroom activities and targeted interventions • Support pupils during transitions, group work and unstructured times • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to follow EHCP targets What We’re Looking For • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, autism or communication needs • A calm, patient and nurturing approach • Confidence using visuals, PECS or Makaton would be beneficial • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils quickly • Full-time availability and commitment to a long-term role This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Tower Hamlets primary school where your work will make a genuine difference to pupils who need structure, patience and encouragement to thrive.
