About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant, inclusive primary school in Bournemouth, starting in September. This exciting opportunity involves providing 1:1 SEND support for a Year 1 pupil with ASC, as well as assisting in the general classroom for a Year 2 class. You will be part of a supportive team working under the guidance of a friendly and experienced Senior Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring the needs of all pupils are met in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with ASC, helping them to engage with the curriculum, manage transitions, and develop social and communication skills. Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to a Year 2 class. Support pupils' individual learning needs, both within the classroom and outside. Help with the creation of inclusive learning activities and adapt materials where necessary. Work closely with the SENDCo and other teaching assistants to ensure effective collaboration in the classroom. Competitive salary of £90 - £95 per day, depending on experience. What We’re Looking For: Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with experience working with children with ASC. Alternatively, experience in working with young people with special educational needs (SEND) or a transferable skill set that could be applied to this role. A passion for supporting children’s learning and development, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to individual pupil needs. Ideally, a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), although not essential.
