Teaching Assistant – Special Needs School
Location: Wimbledon, Southwest London
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Salary: £89–£105 per day
Contract: Long-term | Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist day and residential school supporting pupils aged 2–19 with Vision Impairment, Hearing Impairment, and Multi-Sensory Impairments.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, your role will involve:
– Providing classroom support and engaging students through sensory-based learning activities
– Assisting with personalised learning and communication approaches
– Collaborating with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored education plans
– Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction
– Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
– Passionate about supporting children with additional needs (experience is beneficial but not essential)
– Patient, adaptable, and empathetic in their approach
– A confident communicator and collaborative team member
– Open to learning and applying sensory-led teaching strategies
