An inclusive all through school is looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and challenging behaviours.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to pupils across various age groups. They will be expected to assist both one-to-one and in small group settings, helping students access the curriculum while promoting engagement and positive behaviour. The role will involve contributing to the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans, supporting a structured and inclusive learning environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues, external professionals, and families.
Applicants should have proven experience working with children who have special educational needs, especially those on the autism spectrum and those presenting with behavioural challenges. Strong communication skills, patience, resilience, and a proactive approach are essential. While not mandatory, a relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate would be advantageous.
