Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and well-resourced Primary Special Needs School in Ealing, Greenford. This is a full-time, long-term role, commencing in September 2025, offering a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
-As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:
-Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, primarily those diagnosed with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.
-Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) in close collaboration with class teachers and SEN specialists.
-Use PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton to support alternative communication and promote engagement.
-Support pupils with personal care needs, ensuring dignity and comfort are upheld at all times.
-Help create and maintain a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment that caters to diverse sensory and behavioural needs.
-Monitor pupil progress and contribute effectively to planning and review meetings by providing clear, observational feedback.
-Encourage positive interactions and foster independence and confidence among students.
To be considered for this role, you should ideally have:
-Previous experience working with children with Autism or experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings.
-Proficiency in PECS and a sound working knowledge of Makaton (or a willingness to learn).
-A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children with special educational needs.
-Confidence and willingness to assist with personal care tasks, when needed.
-Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
-Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
-A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
