Job Title: Teaching assistant
Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Autism Provision
Location: Richmond, Southwest London
Start Date: September 2025 (New Academic Year)
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £89-£110 per day
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join the Autism Provision team at a welcoming primary school in Richmond, starting in September 2025. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Reception-aged child on the autism spectrum, helping them thrive both academically and personally in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide consistent, 1:1 support tailored to the needs of a child with autism
– Assist with educational activities, communication development, and daily routines
– Deliver personal care when required with sensitivity and professionalism
– Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning space in collaboration with staff
Ideal Candidate:
– Experience working with children with autism or additional needs (preferred)
– A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners
– Team-Teach training is advantageous but not essential
– Committed to promoting inclusion and individual growth
