Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Axcis are looking for enthusiastic, patient and proactive individuals to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with ADHD and behavioural challenges. ?? About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping pupils reach their potential in a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment. This is a varied and rewarding position suited to those who are confident working with small groups or 1:1, especially with children who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support for children with SEND, including ADHD and behavioural needs
- Work with pupils in small groups or one-to-one to enhance learning
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities aligned with the curriculum
- Support class teachers in managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Adapt your approach to meet the diverse needs of each child
- Promote inclusion and contribute to a positive school environment
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support pupil development
? Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting children or individuals with SEND or additional needs (this could be in schools, care, youth work, or similar)
- Strong communication skills with both adults and children
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to work well within a team
?? Desirable Qualities
- Previous experience with challenging behaviour or emotional regulation
- Initiative and confidence to lead small group sessions independently
- Energetic, positive and committed to inclusion
- A passion for supporting pupil development and wellbeing
