About the Role:
Axcis Education is looking for a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a mainstream primary school in Southall.
This is a rewarding 1:1 support role where you'll work closely with a curious and responsive pupil who thrives on praise and adult engagement, despite experiencing behavioural challenges. You will play a key role in helping this child access learning, manage behaviour, and feel supported in a structured, positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide 1:1 tailored support, using proactive strategies to manage behaviour and encourage learning
-Engage the pupil in classroom activities, supporting participation and understanding
-Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to implement a personalised learning plan
-Use consistent positive reinforcement to build trust and promote progress
-Record and report on behavioural and academic development, contributing to review meetings and planning
What We’re Looking For:
-Experience supporting children with autism or additional needs, particularly managing challenging behaviour
-Calm, patient, and communicative approach with the ability to form strong, supportive relationships
-Resilient and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for inclusive education
-SEN training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)
-A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential
