The Role
Axcis Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in West Drayton, currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Specialist Resource Provision (SRP).
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting a small group of pupils (Years 1–5) with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The children present with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and behavioural challenges. You will be working closely with a class teacher and a team of experienced TAs to deliver structured learning, emotional regulation support, and social development strategies.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
-Help maintain a calm and consistent learning environment
-Support pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
-Work collaboratively with staff to adapt learning activities and routines
-Implement behaviour and personal development plans
-Promote inclusion and encourage pupil confidence
What We’re Looking For
-Proven experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD, ADHD, or behavioural needs
-A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to support
-Confidence in maintaining clear, fair, and consistent boundaries
-Strong teamwork skills and adaptability in a busy school setting
-A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
-Team Teach training is desirable, or willingness to undertake training
