Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Specialising in Challenging Behaviours and SEMH Location: Warrington Position Type: Full-time, Long-term Salary: £12-£15 per hour (depending on experience) As a Teaching Assistant specialising in supporting challenging behaviours and SEMH, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide individualised support to students, helping them overcome obstacles to their learning and personal development. This role is perfect for individuals with a background in youth work or residential homes, who are proactive, empathetic, and thrive in a dynamic educational setting. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one support to students with challenging behaviours and SEMH, both inside and outside the classroom. • Assist teaching staff in implementing individualised behaviour management strategies and interventions. • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being. • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and adapt learning activities to meet the needs of students with SEMH. • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team as needed. • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. Requirements: • Previous experience working with youth in challenging environments, such as youth work or residential homes. • Strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour management techniques. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues. • Ability to use initiative and problem-solving skills to effectively support students with diverse needs. • A positive and resilient attitude, with a willingness to adapt to the changing demands of the role. • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
