Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEMH and Challenging Behaviour) Location: Wirral, PRU Setting Salary: £12-£15 per hour Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Start Date: September 2024 Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience working with students who display challenging behaviour and have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dedicated team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Wirral. Axcis are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from September 2024. As a Teaching Assistant in a PRU setting, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to achieve their potential and make positive changes in their lives. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH and challenging behaviour. • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). • Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment. • Help students develop coping strategies, social skills, and emotional regulation techniques. • Support classroom activities and ensure students are engaged and motivated. • Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff members. • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Requirements: • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. • Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
