Axcis are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from September 2024. As a Teaching Assistant in a PRU setting, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to achieve their potential and make positive changes in their lives. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH and challenging behaviour. • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). • Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment. • Help students develop coping strategies, social skills, and emotional regulation techniques. • Support classroom activities and ensure students are engaged and motivated. • Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff members. • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Requirements: • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. • Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
