Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Chingford, E4)
A secondary school in the Chingford (E4) area is looking to appoint a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone confident in building strong relationships, maintaining clear boundaries, and helping young people positively re-engage with their education.
Role Details:
Full-time position
Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
Encouraging emotional regulation and positive classroom engagement
Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs
Be calm, patient, and consistent — firm but fair in their approach
Build trust and act as a positive role model
Be genuinely committed to making a difference
