Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant for SEND Base (KS2) - Full Time Location: Halton, Cheshire Start Date: September 2024 Salary: £12 - £15 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications) Axcis are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) base, working with Key Stage 2 students. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2024. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with diverse needs and committed to helping them achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to KS2 students with SEND, tailored to their individual needs. • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons. • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. • Support students with personal care and mobility, if required. • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. • Collaborate with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists. • Encourage social and emotional development through positive interactions and structured activities. Requirements: • Previous experience working with children with SEND essential • A relevant qualification in Education, Childcare, or Special Educational Needs (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning). Desirable • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
