Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: Chorley, Lancashire Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Start Date: September 2024 Working Hours: Monday to Friday Axcis are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Key Responsibilities: • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with ASC, ensuring their individual educational and developmental needs are met. • Assist the student with classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and able to participate fully. • Implement strategies and interventions as outlined in the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and record the student’s progress. • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the student's social and emotional development. • Assist with the student's personal care needs, if required. • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals involved in the student's care and education. Qualifications and Skills: • Previous experience working with children with ASC or other special educational needs • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is preferred. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and developmental needs of children. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
