Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Student Mentor to join our supportive team in the heart of Middleton, Greater Manchester. This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine interest in fostering student growth and development, and who can commit to a consistent schedule. Our ideal candidate must possess a valid Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one mentoring to an assigned student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Establish and maintain regular meetings with the student to set goals and reflect on their progress.
- Actively participate in IEP and EHCP review meetings.
- Provide in-class support to the student, which may involve one-on-one assistance or working with small groups.
- Ensure a supportive and understanding environment to foster the student's academic and personal growth.
- Assist with setting realistic targets and strategies to help the student achieve their full potential.
Qualifications:
- No specific subject knowledge is required.
- Must have an updated Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
- Available to work consistently on the same 3, 4, or 5 days each week.
Additional Information:
- CPD training will be provided throughout the year to aid in your professional development.
- While on placement, candidates are encouraged to apply for permanent positions within the institution.
- The role commences on the 26th of August, though there is some flexibility with the start date.
- Working hours are from 8:45 am to 4:15 pm.
- The pay rate is £100 per day (PAYE).
