Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Mainstream Behaviour Support Assistance
Position: Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant (Challenging Behaviour)
Location: Newham, Greater London
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Salary: £12-15 per hour (increasing after 12 weeks per agency regulations)

Axcis is working with a fantastic mainstream primary/secondary school in Newham to recruit a SEND Teaching assistance. We are looking for various teaching Assistant who have experience in dealing with Challenging Behaviour, to work within a classroom setting across our mainstream school. We are looking for strong minded candidates who can work within small groups with children between the ages of 11-16 years.
Axcis are looking for candidates who have experience in any of the below settings supporting a variety of special needs:
- Schools
- Youth Clubs
- Colleges
- Encouraging positive behaviour
- Residential
- Personal experience considered (SEND)
The school has a fantastic support structure and offers excellent resources for all staff that work there. This a diverse and vibrant school and the school has a strong team of permanent staff who can support agency supply.
The school is seeking a person with a friendly, can-do attitude, calm and patient nature when dealing with students with challenging behaviour and a professional manner (the understanding of how to build self-esteem in others)
There is excellent potential for progression in this school, with many staff being taken onto permanent contracts after a short period of supply work *ALL OF OUR ROLES ARE INITIALLY TEMPORARY WITH A VIEW TO GO PERMANENT FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATES*
