Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a compassionate, flexible and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist all-through SEND school in Hungerford. This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a supportive specialist setting, helping pupils with a range of additional needs to develop their independence, build confidence and engage with their learning. The school primarily supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), alongside a variety of other associated and complex needs. You will be supporting pupils across a wide range of ages and abilities, so it is important that you are adaptable and comfortable adjusting your approach to meet each individual's needs. The role will involve providing 1:1 and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, encouraging communication and social development, and helping pupils throughout their daily routines. Personal care is also an important part of the role, so candidates must be comfortable supporting pupils with their personal care requirements in a sensitive, respectful and professional manner. Previous experience working with children or adults with SEND is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who are patient, nurturing and resilient, with the confidence to work with individuals who have different levels of ability and support requirements. A willingness to get involved, think on your feet and provide consistent support is key. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, offering £92.63 per day. If you have a background in SEND support and are looking for a varied and rewarding role where you can have a positive impact on pupils' lives, we would love to hear from you.
