Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND School
Location: Redruth, Cornwall
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm
£94–£98 per day
Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity within a specialist SEND setting?
We are working with a welcoming specialist school in Redruth that is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
The school supports children and young people with a range of additional and complex learning needs and places a strong emphasis on individual progress, wellbeing, independence and preparing pupils for life beyond school.
About the Role
You will work alongside teachers and experienced support staff to help pupils engage with learning and develop their confidence and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis
• Helping children access and engage with their learning
• Supporting communication, social development and independence
• Encouraging positive behaviour and building trusting relationships
• Helping pupils develop practical and life skills
• Providing a calm, patient and consistent approach
• Working closely with teachers and the wider team to meet individual needs
The school provides a practical and engaging learning environment, with activities designed around pupils' individual interests, abilities and future goals.

• Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
• Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential. Experience within a specialist school or supporting pupils with complex needs would be highly beneficial.
