About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school team. Working alongside the class teacher, you will provide targeted support to pupils with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve academic progress and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver individualized assistance to SEND pupils during whole-class and small-group activities.
• Implement and adapt learning resources, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
• Monitor student progress, record observations, and contribute to IEP reviews.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and social interaction.
• Support behaviour management strategies and reinforce positive routines.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, parents, and external professionals to coordinate care and interventions.
Essential Requirements
• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting (minimum 1?year).
• Relevant qualification (e.g., Level?2/3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow safeguarding and child-protection policies.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
• Training in specific SEND categories (e.g., autism, dyslexia).
• First-aid certification.
