Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist school in Woodley. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs while becoming part of a dedicated team committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential.
The role is based in Woodley and operates Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate of £92.63. Working within a supportive and nurturing environment, you will provide essential support to pupils aged 4 to 17 who have a range of moderate to severe learning disabilities. Your contribution will be key in helping students access learning, develop confidence and gain important life skills that support their independence both in and out of the classroom.
You will work closely alongside teachers and other support staff to ensure each pupil receives the individualised support they require. This will involve assisting with learning activities, encouraging engagement, supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils build positive relationships with those around them. The role requires someone who can adapt their approach to meet a variety of needs and who is confident supporting both individual pupils and small groups throughout the school day.
We welcome applications from candidates who have experience working within SEND settings, specialist schools, residential care environments, youth work, social care or other roles supporting vulnerable children and young people. Equally important is the ability to build strong, trusting relationships, demonstrate patience and resilience, and provide a consistent and positive presence for pupils who may require additional support.
The successful candidate will be confident working with children and young people with complex needs and will be comfortable supporting personal care where required. Flexibility is essential, as you may work across different classes, age groups and learning needs. A proactive attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting others will help you thrive in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a genuine difference in a specialist educational setting where every achievement is celebrated and every day brings new opportunities to positively impact a young person's life. If you are committed, compassionate and ready for a rewarding challenge, we would love to hear from you.
