SEN Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language Support – Primary – Tower Hamlets From £89/day | Primary | Tower Hamlets | Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Axcis are partnering with a welcoming, community-focused primary school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with speech, language and communication needs across EYFS and KS1. The school has a Good Ofsted rating and is widely praised for its nurturing ethos, strong SEND leadership and early-intervention approach. With excellent transport links including the DLR, Overground and multiple bus routes, the school is easy to reach from across East London. In this role, you will be: • Supporting pupils with speech & language delays, social communication difficulties and early expressive language needs. • Delivering targeted SALT-led interventions such as vocabulary groups, sentence-building activities, narrative work, attention & listening programmes and early phonics support. • Using visual timetables, prompts, communication boards and structured routines to aid understanding. • Encouraging confidence, turn-taking and positive language use during play and group work. • Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers and visiting Speech & Language Therapists to track progress and implement personalised strategies. What we’re looking for: • Experience supporting children with speech & language needs, autism, or communication challenges. • A warm, patient communicator who can model clear language, scaffolding and interaction. • Confidence using visuals, gestures or structured communication tools (PECS/Makaton desirable but not essential). • Someone proactive, nurturing and passionate about early intervention and inclusive practice.
