Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Bury (BL9) Length of Role: Academic Year 2025/2026 Pay Rate: £89 - £110 per day Contract Type: Temporary A specialist school in Bury (BL9) supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) is seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant for the 2025/2026 academic year. This temporary role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting children with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH and ASD in one-to-one or small group settings • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and resource preparation • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff • Contribute to school initiatives and extra-curricular activities Requirements: • Experience working with children with SEND is desirable but not essential • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Empathetic, patient, and proactive approach to pupil support • Interest or knowledge in SEMH and ASD support is advantageous • Committed to helping pupils reach their full potential This full-time, temporary role runs for the academic year and offers a competitive daily rate of £89 to £110 depending on experience and qualifications.
