Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A specialist primary SEND school in South Manchester is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September. About the School: This vibrant and inclusive school supports pupils aged 4–11 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Each pupil follows an individual Pupil Personal Plan, designed to support their specific learning and developmental needs. The curriculum is rich, exciting, and tailored to help every child achieve their potential. Independence, communication, life skills, and physical development are woven through all areas of learning, with a strong emphasis on nurturing the whole child. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will: - Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups in line with their individual plans - Assist with delivering a creative and engaging curriculum - Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and support teams - Use communication aids, sensory strategies, and physical development techniques as part of daily routines - Help promote pupil confidence, independence, and emotional well-being Ideal Candidates Will Have: - Experience working with children with SEND, particularly ASC, SLD, or PMLD - A calm, flexible, and proactive approach - Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team - A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting children’s holistic development This is a long-term, full-time role with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a well-resourced and supportive setting. Hours would be 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday, with the pay of £90-95 per day, depending on experience.
