Location: West Drayton, Greater London Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM About the Role Axcis Education is delighted to partner with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in West Drayton. Axcis are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Communication Class. In this role, you will support a small group of pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other complex learning profiles. Working closely with a class teacher and two other teaching assistants, you will provide structured, communication-rich support to help pupils regulate, engage, and progress. Key Responsibilities -Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND. -Assist pupils in maintaining focus, regulation, and emotional safety throughout the day. -Support academic and social development within a communication-friendly environment. -Offer personal care support when required (e.g., toileting). -Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. -Serve as a consistent, compassionate adult presence for pupils. What Axcis are Looking For: -Experience supporting children with Autism, Down Syndrome, or complex learning needs. -Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using calm, positive strategies. -Willingness to support personal care as part of the role. -A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). -A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to learning support.
