SEND Teaching Assistant – Dawlish
Location: Dawlish
Salary: £85 - £95 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 08:45 – 15:45
Start Date: ASAP
Axcis Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Dawlish. If you have a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping pupils with additional learning needs develop their confidence, independence, and social skills. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing tailored support to pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
• Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to individual needs
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting emotional well-being
• Using specialist resources such as sensory rooms, therapy hubs, and quiet reflection areas
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment

• Previous experience working in a similar setting (as a Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, or Support Worker)
• A good understanding of SEND and behavioural needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting students
