Trial Day: Thursday 17th July 2025
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:45pm
A well-regarded SEND school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant to support a Year 11 male student. The student is a wheelchair user, non-verbal, and uses visual aids for communication.
This is a full-time role starting in September, with an immediate trial available this Thursday (17/07/2025). You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team focused on student-centred care and learning.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience supporting students with SEND, particularly non-verbal communication
• Confident using visual aids and communication tools (e.g. PECs, symbols, ACC, communication boards)
• Manual handling training (essential)
• Ability to work 1:1 with empathy, patience, and consistency
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply
This role is ideal for candidates with:
• A background in care, therapy, or previous 1:1 SEND support
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A proactive, calm and supportive approach to learning
