Job Title: SEND TEACHER
A brilliant College in Edgware is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Lecturer for a full-time position in the HA8 campus. This is a life skills teaching role, working with a class of up to 6 students, aged 16-25. They are seeking someone who can start immediately, with a trial to be arranged as soon as possible.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for teaching life skills to a small group of students with special educational needs. This role involves preparing students for independent living, focusing on essential life skills and personal development. The course is designed to help students build confidence, improve their communication, and gain practical skills that will support them in their transition to adult life.
Each student is supported by specialist teaching assistants, and as the SEN Lecturer, you will:
Coordinate work towards individual learning targets.
Oversee the smooth running of the timetable and lesson plans.
Create an engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of each student.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with SEN learners, particularly in life skills or independent living courses.
Ability to manage and adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students aged 16-25.
Strong organisational skills to ensure targets are met and supported by the wider teaching team.
Passion for supporting young people in their development towards independence.
