Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Support Worker to join our inclusive learning environment within a Rochdale-based school. The successful candidate will work closely with young people who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and will play a pivotal role in supporting their educational and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to help them access the curriculum and achieve their personal learning goals.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to deliver personalized support in line with each student's EHCP, ensuring their needs are met within the classroom setting.
- Assist in the monitoring, review, and updating of EHCP documentation, ensuring all plans accurately reflect the student's current requirements and progress.
- Support the development and implementation of inclusive teaching strategies, adapting materials and activities to facilitate student engagement and participation.
- Encourage and promote the students' independence, self-confidence, and social inclusion.
- Provide regular feedback on students' progress, challenges, and achievements to teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience working with young people who have special educational needs, particularly those with an EHCP.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with varying abilities and needs.
- A thorough understanding of inclusion principles and a proven track record in providing inclusive learning experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Up-to-date DBS on the update service is essential for this role.
