Job Title: SENCO
SENCO – Special School | Full-Time | Permanent | Start: September 2025
A warm and inclusive special school in North West London is seeking a passionate and experienced SENCO to join its leadership team from September 2025. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to shape and lead outstanding SEND practice in a specialist setting.
About the School:
The school supports pupils aged 4–19 with a range of complex needs including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication challenges. The school offers a nurturing, family-centred environment where each pupil is known and valued as an individual.
The Role:
As SENCO, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of SEND strategy, provision and statutory compliance. You will work closely with staff, families, therapists, and external professionals to ensure each pupil receives a highly personalised and holistic education.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and delivery of high-quality SEND provision across the school
Manage and review EHCPs, ensuring legal compliance and meaningful target setting
Guide and support teaching staff with personalised learning strategies and curriculum adaptation
Liaise effectively with parents, external agencies, and the local authority
Promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, and aspiration for all pupils
Deliver training and support to staff on specialist approaches and interventions
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it)
Have substantial experience supporting pupils with complex learning needs
Be knowledgeable about SEND legislation and best practice in specialist settings
Be a skilled communicator, empathetic leader, and reflective practitioner
Respect and uphold the values and ethos of a Jewish school community
