SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (1:1 Support) Location: Charmouth, Dorset Pay: £92.63–£97 per day Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAP Axcis Education is recruiting for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Charmouth, Dorset. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping pupils achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 SEN support for a pupil within Key Stage 2, helping them access learning, develop independence and build confidence within the classroom environment. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs • Support pupils to access the curriculum and engage positively with classroom activities • Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to implement effective support strategies • Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils through consistency and encouragement • Support emotional regulation, confidence building and social development • Use positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques when required • Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment • Support personalised learning activities and resources • Encourage independence, communication and participation in school life • Monitor progress and celebrate pupils’ achievements and milestones The school is committed to supporting every child as an individual and provides a nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.
