Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you looking for a full-time opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? A secondary school in Peckham is looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a temporary, full-time position supporting students with a range of moderate to severe needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Physical Disabilities, and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). The role will often involve personal care, so applicants should be comfortable with this responsibility.
You’ll work closely with teachers and other staff to help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where students can thrive. Your day will include assisting with lessons, activities, and personalised support tailored to each student’s needs.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in care or supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEND) is essential.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs.
• A valid child and adult DBS certificate registered on the update service is required.
• Strong English communication skills
• Please note: This position is term time only, full-time, and not suitable for part-time applicants.
Details:
• Location: Peckham
• Hours: 08:30 – 16:00, Monday to Friday, term time only
• Daily Pay Rates: From £85 per day
