Job Title: SEN Teacher - KS4 - PMLD
JOB WORKING HOURS:
Axcis Education is currently working with an outstanding college near Pinhoe to recruit a SEN Teacher for a KS4 class. The college is part of a specialist education academy with pupils that have MLD, ASD, SLD, PMLD and complex needs.
The role is to teach a KS4 class of 8 students with mixed abilities. Some students are studying national curriculum and others have specific lesson plans. Many of the students are supported by dedicated teaching assistant / enablers within the classroom. This is a supply role so lesson plans will be provided. You will be required to work every Monday and Tuesday from 8.45am to 3.30pm until the end of the Easter term.
For this position you must have QTS Teacher status and also have extensive experience of working with KS4 SEN pupils - in particular with complex ASD and PMLD. It is also essential that you have a compassionate and nurturing approach.
The ideal candidate will have:
" A flexible and resourceful approach to teaching
" You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
" Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).
" The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
" Strong subject knowledge of the Maths Curriculum
" A minimum of 12 months of teaching experience
" Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
" Enhanced DBS/Police checks
